Our goal is to engage, enchant and educate our guests about the wonderful diversity of this unique wetlands ecosystem. By getting you on the Columbia River we hope that you will emerge from your wetlands float tour with a renewed sense of wonder. The staff of Columbia Wetlands Adventures is dedicated to sustainability and conservation.

Our Team

Columbia Wetlands Adventures is a locally owned and operated by the Teasdale family, whose love of the wetlands is apparent in the work they've put into this business and its facilities. Wally, Murray, Gale, Christina, Steve and Carley who all bring extensive experience and local knowledge with them, complete the team to make your wilderness holiday a memorable event.

Commitment to the environment

Columbia Wetlands Adventure staff are universally dedicated to environmental stewardship. We offer a unique and authentic experience that is a "must do" eco tour for visitors to the Columbia River Wetlands. Our dynamic and thought-provoking interpretive programs have been created with the assistance of local people with historic knowledge and local professionals that share our passion and love for the area and the Columbia River.  We hope you will feel it too.

Meet The Team

Mark Teasdale

Mark Teasdale - Owner

Mark Teasdale, the owner of Columbia Wetlands Adventures, moved to the Golden BC in 1998 after many years of sailing and working around the world. Mark is dedicated to sharing his love of nature and sharing his passion for Columbia River its diverse wetlands.

Chris and Mo Teasdale – Guide and Sales

Chris and Mo are Mark's parents and share his love for the Columbia River and the wetlands. They took a 7 year journey around the world aboard their own sailboat. They have a lot of stories to tell. Their outgoing, adventurous personalities make them the perfect river hosts.

Wally Randall

Wally Randall - River Guide

Wally is one of Columbia Wetlands Adventures great river guides. Paddling since an early age and holding a masters level of canoeing, Wally loves sharing the history of the Columbia River Valley as he guides our guests down one of North America's greatest rivers. Wally is also an accomplished photographer, and his practiced eye is always searching to find the perfect shot for his guests!

Stephen Shaw

Stephen Shaw - River Guide

Steve, a recent graduate from the tourism program here in Golden, BC, is the newest addition to the Columbia Wetlands Adventures team! Steve grew up in Ontario and spent many of his summers canoeing and kayaking throughout the lake chains in northern Ontario. Once he relocated to beautiful British Columbia he fell in love with the pristine wildlife and untouched nature. Steve loves the rugged beauty of the surrounding mountains and looks forward to sharing it with his guests!

Murray Richardson

Murray Richardson - River Guide

Murray’s heritage and heart is in the Columbia River Valley where he enjoys all the adventure the valley has to offer. He delights in sharing his extensive knowledge of the vast bird and animal population and the history of the magnificent valley with our guests.

Gale Brownlee

Gale Brownlee - Sales

Gale has lived in the Columbia River Valley since 1985. She raised her 2 children here and spends as much of her time outdoors as she can, hiking, berry picking and fishing. Her extensive knowledge of the valley will help any adventurous visitors plan their scenic holiday.

Christina Spence

Christina Spence - Sales Coordinator

Christina is usually located in the Columbia Wetlands headquarters. Living and working in the Columbia River Valley since 1996 makes her a local expert with plenty of suggestions about accommodation and restaurants. Her local knowledge combined with her love of outdoor recreation makes her assistance in booking your Columbia Wetlands adventure invaluable.

Carley Frasca

Carley Frasca - Summer Student

Carley was born and raised here in the Columbia River Valley. She is very active, loves the outdoors, and enjoys being helpful in all areas of CWA’s activities.
